So the scenario goes…

You’ve started your direct sales business and you’ve started getting parties booked.  You know the money is in the parties, but you want to diversify your work, and build more leveraged streams of income, so you’re looking for alternative ways to market and deliver service to your clients.

Where Party Planning Has its Limits

While the party planning model has worked for hundreds of years, it has limits.  If you want to have more lifestyle freedom, direct sales is definitely a good route in comparison to the traditional corporate ladder route, however, what people often forget to mention is…

Direct sales still has a large time commitment.

  • You have to spend time on acquiring new customers
  • Finding party hosts
  • Preparing for home parties
  • Maintaining inventory
  • Distributing client orders
  • Marketing, attending Networking Events and Vendor Events
  • Doing recordkeeping
  • and more…

There’s definitely 40 hours or more worth of work to be done, and unlike a job, there’s no person to fill your place when you want to take vacation or if you have a family emergency–that’s where implementing systems to make your work a bit more passive can take a huge load off.

direct sales trainingWho Teaches on Business Systems?

The problem for many direct sellers is they have many people who will teach them how to deliver a presentation, but when they want to streamline and maintain growth, there’s fewer people who can help.  In his book, The E-Myth, Michael Gerber talked about how most businesses get stuck in the infancy or adolescent stages of their businesses, so they never reach the growth stage where more systems and leverage enable the lifestyle freedom we (entrepreneurs) desire.  As a result, there’s not many people who can teach you how to implement these systems, but out list of training courses can…

  1. Hey Tiffany,
Beautiful website! I like the aesthetics.
I definitely agree that the traditional ways of doing direct sales is quite time consuming.
Luckily for us, we can leverage our reach with the internet these days. Those 5 courses look great. I never even knew Thrive had a course for their page builders.
I see that you built your website with the builder. Looks great!

    Wilson

    1. Hi Wilson. The Thrive courses go over much more than the page builder. They have the page builder (Thrive Architect) and many other plugins that help to increase conversions on your website. Their training is fairly general internet marketing training on increasing conversions.  Very good training.

  2. Hi Tiffany,

Great review on some great training platforms. I am a WA member and can really appreciate the time spent to explain this program.

But what really got my interest is the Billionaire Blog Club and Udemy.

I do a lot of cooking tutorials and have been looking to teach others my methods. I feel Udemy may be just the place to do this.

The Billionaire blog Club sounds interesting, the writer does not seem to mince their words. I l actually like reading where reality is placed without sugarcoating. I will be looking at this platform with a bit more intensity.

Thank you for these two new options.

    1. You can see instantly with Paul Scrivs at the Billionaire Blog Club that he’s not sugarcoating things. Haha. Glad you found Udemy. It might be a great platform for you to consider.

  3. NSOH ALIEH LAURINE

I know Thrive Themes for their conversion focused optin forms but didn’t know that they were a university as well. Good to know.

I heard a lot about Udemy and checked them out. They also offer a rich directory of online resources, and you need to know your way around the platform to identify what is good for you, especially in Affiliate Marketing, as there are thousands of available courses. Definitely a platform someone should try out.

But after all, is said and done, I prefer Wealthy Affiliate, as it was my last and final bus stop. Thanks for such a resourceful post.

    1. I think alot of people don’t know about the courses offered the Thrive University, but they’re really spot on! I’ve enjoyed each one.

  4. Having had a long time in the Direct Sales market, I know how much work is involved party planning, follow up with clients, training new members etc. and that is why it is such a pleasure being able to earn and learn online and hear about all the  various courses available to all who work on line.

This is encouraging to someone new to this way of making a living. worth looking at and learning about. One can never stop learning if you want to grow your business.

No more running around delivering parcels, collecting monies owing etc. Although fun at the time, working online is definitely the way to go.

    1. Hi Jill! I agree that online can definitely help leverage the workload. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

  5. Hello Tiffany, it’s me again 🙂

As always your article is great and it is well written, I know both Udemy and Wealthy Affiliate and they are great tools to grow your existing business or create one if you are willing too. Udemy is great if you want to create a passive income with your knowledge, it is sure not easy to create a course but if you already have one, it is a great platform to sell it on. Wealthy Affiliate in the other hand it is more than complete and it really helps you whether you are a newbie or an expert in your field.

I also checked The Billionaire Club and it seems to be legit, remind me of reading your review. 🙂

As you mentioned in the beginning or your article a direct sales training is often linked to your time and with the internet it is now possible to leverage your knowledge and make passive online so why not take this option into consideration? It seems a wise decision to take.

Thank you for making me discover other platforms, hope to connect with you.

    Youba

    1. Hi Youba! Thanks for stopping by again. Each of these companies has made very good training for starting and growing businesses. Glad you concur.
