Del Walmsley, Real Estate Investing & Becoming a Self-Made Multimillionaire

If you’re considering how to achieve the path of financial freedom, it’s likely you’ve come across the option to invest in real estate.  Real estate is one of the most historic ways of building wealth and stabilizing a consistent leveraged income.

In contrast to leveraged income, most people spend their working lives waking up and going to a 9-5 where they earn active incomes.  Unfortunately, with active income, there’s usually an expiration date.  There’s a last paycheck: a point where most people lose motivation or physical ability to accomplish the tasks in their jobs.

Typically, you’re most likely to have the highest energy, health, and ability in the workforce while you’re young. As you get older and older, you age, it’s harder to adapt to the changing processes, procedures, requirements, and technology, and it becomes time for retirement (or something else).

But, what do you do after your last paycheck?  Do you stress about how to survive off of government benefits, or do you cash your last check in excitement knowing you’ve built streams of income that provide your needs and wants sufficiently?

People who have investments set up (like real estate) can breath easy knowing they’ll have an income that will provide a comfortable living for them.  It can be confusing to set up the real estate the right way, which is why people like Del Walmsley have created programs to help.

Del Walmsley is the founder of Lifestyles Unlimited Inc., a company whose mission is to “to teach their members how to supplement or replace their earned income with passive income, thereby reducing their dependence on jobs, pensions, social security, and savings programs like IRAs and 401(k)s.”

Lifestyles executes their mission by having several brick and mortar locations throughout Texas where real estate investors go for mentorship on real estate investing, they get discounts at select vendors, and they can network and build a community with other like-minded people.

Del founded Lifestyles in 1990 after building enough real estate income for himself that he was able to quit his job as Director of Sales for Bally’s Health Clubs.  Since, he’s become a self-made multimillionaire by creating a real estate portfolio of single and multi-family homes.

Thru Lifestyles, he has taught tens of thousands of people how to create the lifestyle they desire without sacrificing health, relationships, or beliefs. Lifestyles, has had 20,000+ members and is growing viraciously in San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Austin, Texas.  The investors are leaders in the real estate market; dominating major awards in multi-family and single-family real estate associations.

In addition to his personal financial achievements and the founding of Lifestyles, Del has also had major professional successes including:

  • Serving as the Chairman of the Houston Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association Independent Real Estate Owners Council (IROC)

  • and, he’s impacted thousands of lives in a positive way

As said on his website:

“Del’s mission in life is to help as many people as possible buy their lives back from corporate America so they can do what they want, when they want, and with whomever they want.”

Del Walmsley Success Quotes

“I don’t like motivation. Motivation wears off.”

“I think that success is about integrity to yourself and to the people around you”

“Don’t, lie, cheat, and steal.”

“Figure out what you want to be. Don’t be what your parents want you to accomplish or what your wife wants you to be.”

“Have integrity with other people.”

“Inspiration is something out in front of you that you want so bad that you’ll do anything to get there.”

“The inspiration to know that there’s some place down the line you want to be, and you don’t want to be here–that will get you wherever you want to be.”

“Truly retirement comes by owning a business. A business by my definition is not self-employed. Self-employed is a job. You own your job. A business is when you look at the org chart and you’re not on it–that there’s nothing for you to do.”

  1. I have always been interested in Real Estate and this post got me thinking again. Again I have never heard of this man Del Walmsely but I agree with him completely. Love the video linked to the post, and I love how he doesn’t go with excuses. Very informative. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Hi Andrea! Del has an amazing program he runs thru Lifestyles. I’ve seen many people learn sound principles from there and the social network acts like a family. He’s a fairly straightforward person, and a good person to follow if you’re interested in real estate investing.

  2. Hi Tiffany,

Real estate is definitely one of the very first investment options I learned about that can bring money (from my parents). But they are not pros in this spheres and I personally prefer to gain solid information from self-made millionaires… whatever niche they are in.

I will be honest though: I haven’t heard of Del Walmsley or his Lifestyles Unlimited. I read Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad Poor Dad” books but I never really joined any course/program that teaches how to start investing into real estate the right way.

    Now…

I finally came to realize that if I want to become wealthy, I need to focus on BUSINESS and INVESTING.

In my case: Recently I started a website/content business that I keep working on. I have a bit of income coming in every month already but it’s definitely not enough to buy a house, or even an apartment. (Real estate in Toronto is insanely expensive today).

I still want to do some investing.

Question: What do you think of real estate investment trusts?

While I am still learning how REITs work, it seems like a good idea to buy shares for now instead of trying to save money for years to buy my first condo/house.

Basically I am looking for an opportunity to get my foot in the door and just start some real investing. (For what it’s worth: Cryptocurrency definitely is not something I am planning to get involved with.)

Will appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you in advance, Tiffany!

    1. Hello Zarina! To be honest, I don’t know much about REITs. My parents are real estate investors and I grew up working on single family properties for rent. Del teaches single family, multi-family, and you can find people who have also done commercial investing at his Lifestyles events.

I think real estate is a good and longstanding investment, but there are others that can give you returns on your investment while you build you cash supply up. It’s good you’re looking into your options. You should check out Del’s radio show.
