Who is Dean Graziosi? | Dean Graziosi Biography

Dean Graziosi is a multimillionaire real estate expert, success coach, and trainer who bleeds authenticity, has a zero tolerance for being absent from his family, and who believes in helping other people in order to climb the echelons of success.  He breaks many of the common stereotypes that many people keep of success, and his alternative thinking has given him notable accomplishments like reaching over $1 billion in sales, but he didn’t start out on the path to wealth.

In fact, he was born and raised in Marlboro, New York to Paul Graziosi and Gloria Post, two middle-class parents.  When he was 3, his parents divorced, and he was raised mostly by his mom and his grandmother until his teenage years when he went to live with his dad.  In combination, his parents have both been married ten times, so he had a lot of instability growing up: different sisters and brothers, different moms and dads, different homes and schools, and so on.  They always seemed to struggle financially, and move from house to house: in total, they moved 20 times by the time he was 19!

He is a high school graduate, but never pursued college.  Instead, to begin his working life, he decided to fix and flip cars, and began seeing success.  From there, he took the same principles, and applied them into real estate–buying his first run down apartment complex with no money down before he reached 20 years old!

  • Reaching millions thru his events (free and paid events)
  • Father to two children Breana (born in 2006) and Brody (born in 2008)
  • He maintains friends with people like Tony Robbins, Sir Richard Branson, Joe Polish, and other very successful people
  • He owns Dean Enterprises LLC. to create and distribute his infomercials and training materials
  • He owns JBB Enterprises LLC. to fix and flip hundreds of homes each year
  • He’s the co-founder of Centurion Mastermind Group that gave $1 million dollars to Richard Branson’s charity Virgin Unite
  • Dean also founded Operation Free Home which gives people in need a free home for one year to help them get back on their feet
  • He’s also been on TV everyday since 1999 and on all major television channels

Among all of the great things that could be said about Dean, he has a great “why”.  In his book, he talks about having an emotion-based “why” rather than an intellectual-based “why”: a mission statement that motivates and fuels you that can even bubble your emotions when you sit and think about it.

As a result of a 7 level exercise he discloses in his book, he was able to identify his “why” to an emotional level and he’s fueled and motivated by it daily. He recommends we each do the exercise to get to the emotional core of “why” we do what we do and seek what we seek.  In five parts, his “why” is:

1. To help his students abandon mediocrity and permanently transform their habits to become more successful

2. To monopolize his industry with ethics and make others increase their standard or get out

3. To continue pushing forwards in his life because he knows what it’s like to be poor, unstable, and out of control

4.  To give his children choices

5. To own his time and money and direct it, and to teach others to do the same.

In order to achieve levels of success like Dean, you have to have a deep “why”, a mindset, and work ethic!  Here are some quotes that prompt his work ethic and should also propel yours…

Dean Graziosi Millionaire Success Habits Quotes

dean graziosi“Successful people, whether they’re working for somebody else or working for themselves, do whatever they do to the best of their ability – as if the boss is watching them every minute of every day.”

“It doesn’t matter how fast you can go, it doesn’t matter how much passion you have, and it doesn’t matter how much energy you put into something. If you don’t have a vision and clarity on the destination you want to reach, you’ll simply never get there.”

“what if I told you it’s true, you are going faster than ever before, but you may be on a treadmill and not a ladder.”

“It doesn’t matter where you come from. It only matters where you are and where you want to go.”

“Recipes save time. Having the right recipe can get you to success quicker.”

“Small shifts yield big results.”

“You don’t have to add time to learn new habits, you just have to replace the old habits.”

“When success habits becomes your new routine, your life can change dramatically.”

“Money is not evil.”

“Money earned ethically can have incredible byproducts–benefits for friends, family, and the world.”

“When worrying about money comes off your plate, you have the opportunity to be your best self.”

“When you have a clear vision for your life, you’ll stop wasting time on the things not serving your dreams, your goals, or your aspirations.”

dean graziosi“When you secure the economy in your house, then you can go out to dinner more, you can get someone to pick up your dry cleaning, you can hire someone to clean your house, take vacations, and give to charity.”

“Imagine it’s one year from today and when looking back over the past year, you realize that it was the best year of your life. What does that look like to you?”

“You see, when you know where you are right at this moment, you possess a true starting point. Then, when you take the time to look backwards from the future in order to create where you want to go over the next year, you’ve done more than most people who are stuck in place; they ignore this simple habit and practice.”

“Identify your “why”

“You may sometimes find yourself wondering why you’re working faster, your life is going quicker, and you’re ultimately working harder than ever before, but you haven’t found that next level in life. And the simple explanation is: you have a villain working against you and you don’t even know it”.

“Many adults inadvertently strip kids of their confidence and their abilities because of this insistence on addressing weaknesses. The truth is that when we’re taught to work on things we suck at, it makes us struggle constantly and it diminishes our belief in ourselves”.

“You possess gifts, your unique abilities. There’s no real explanation as to why you’re good at some things, you just are. And your success depends on making it a habit to focus on improving what you’re already good at to the point of greatness.”

If you put your energy and focus into the things that you’re good at and become great at them, you can eventually pay for someone else to do the things you are not good at. This one strategy will help improve more than just your bank account. It will improve every area of your life.”

“So what is the most costly advice in the entire world? Yes, of course: bad advice.”

“So we must make it a habit to be consciously aware of the bad advice that is flowing at us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and create a filter that doesn’t allow it to get in.”

dean graziosi“Take the time to filter all the advice that comes your way and see if the person sharing it is qualified.  If you want advice on how to play tennis, get advice from someone who is a pro, or who knows how to train pros, not from your great Aunt Edna who has never played, but watches tennis matches religiously on television.”

“Start realizing your true worth and know that you can evolve in the direction you choose.”

“People will learn from you, listen to you, love you, buy from you, and hire you when they feel understood, not when they understand you.”

“Your ears are a better persuasion tool than your lips.”

“Do you want to end conflict? Then listen. Enter the internal conversations in other people’s heads. Let them feel understood. Then, you can unite to solve the problem.”

“Sell people what they want, and give them what they need.”  If you reverse this concept–if you try to sell them what you think they need–you’ll probably fail. Better to hit the bullet points of what they want and wrap it around what they need.”

“When you tap into people’s wants, you stir their emotions, and emotions make decisions. As long as you’re emotionally engaging them in a process, or an action that can help their lives, do anything in your power to turn the proposed behavior into reality.”

“When you learn to tell stories well, you will increase your ability to persuade and attract people. If you can tell a story with a message woven expertly into it to illustrate key points, you will be more persuasive”.

  1. I’ve always been interested in the idea of real estate investing and it’s people like Dean that keep that interest going. It’s incredible how so many successful people today had really tough financial beginnings; I guess it goes to show that it’s all about YOU and not your situation. Would you agree?

That quote about a treadmill made me laugh, but it is definitely thought provoking! Thanks.

    1. I’m also interested in real estate investing. My parents have done it for years and it really helped to stabilize our family. I like to see the people who had tough beginnings because they’re proof that you don’t have to come from a wealthy family to become a success. I agree it’s about you.

      Glad you enjoyed the quotes.

  2. I hadn’t heard about Dean Graziosi until I read your article.  With so many successful entrepreneurs their family life usually suffers.  It was so refreshing to read about his family values and how he has 0 tolerance from being absent from his family.    I am very interested in reading his book, so thank for introducing him to me.  You mentioned that he teaches you how you should change your habits to be successful.  It’s something I’ve always believed, successful people often share the same habits.  Great article, Thanks again.

    1. Hi Celeste! I found Dean’s book power-packed. It was also refreshing to me to see his family values, and I think more people should consider the possibility of balancing their values rather than letting one or the other monopolize their lives.
