Dare to Conquer | An Overview
When you search “blogging courses” in Google or somewhere, there are so many results that pop up! Some are seasoned bloggers and others are brand new (like less than one year in the business!). Nowadays, people who know a pinch will call themselves experts. With all of the results, it can make it very confusing to decide which blogging course to take if you want to learn how to make money blogging. Right?
Over one year ago, I was searching online for a program that could help me take my blog to the next level and I came across the Billionaire Blog Club (now called Dare to Conquer). It looked something like this…

And I’ve been a member for the entire evolution. If you’re here, you’re probably wondering what’s the difference between Dare to Conquer, Billionaire Blog Club, and the plethora of other blogging courses that seem to be poppin’ up all over the place. I was in your shoes in January 2018 when I was scouring the internet looking for a course to accelerate what I was doing. I know how confusing it can be, so I want to help you by telling you what I’ve experienced since I signed up for the Billionaire Blog Club/Dare to Conquer lifetime membership.
Dare to Conquer started as a Blogging course and community started by a veteran blogger (of 10+ years) by the name of Paul Scrivs. He wanted to help bloggers achieve massive results (and collectively more than a billion dollars). He’s had some amazing results with his 13+ blogs, and shares his strategy for how to take a blog from 0 pageviews to thousands in any niche QUICKLY. After about 6 months of being a member of Billionaire Blog Club, Scrivs was really evolving the platform. He was very involved networking and advising members in the community Slack channels, and as a result, he noticed that bloggers weren’t struggling solely with blogging, instead, they were struggling with the business components of the blogging business.
Once he really pinpointed the problem, he decided to rebrand to reflect the direction he would be taking “the Billionaire Blog Club”, and “Dare to Conquer” was born. Now, Dare to Conquer offers:
- A highly engaged networking community (inside of Slack)
- Very in-depth courses on Pinterest, SEO, Sales Funnels, and the collection continues to grow
- Community engagement activities like growth challenges, webinars, pay-it-forward shares, backlink, and comment threads
- and, Mentorship with Scrivs no-nonsense style advice
Let’s face it, by now, you may have bought more than one course you are a little iffy about. You may be looking for ways to make money blogging, and you just don’t want to fork up $549 on a blogging course that is not going to get you to make money. And, I’ve gotten my ROI several times over: in knowledge, in results on my business, and in affiliate commissions! In fact, I earned my entire tuition back in affiliate signups within my first year, and the program is growing so aggressively, it’s definitely going to continue growing!

When I found the Billionaire Blog Club, I had just completed the Make Money Blogging for Beginners course by Create and Go for $199 that I felt left a lot of information to be desired (if you want to make a full-time income). While their course was well-intentioned, they had succeeded and were teaching their strategies that were quite extensive. Their strategies were time intensive beyond what I had, and I was left thinking “Will I be able to make money blogging anytime soon?”
I was getting desperate. I really enjoy blogging a whole lot, but it’s one of those career fields that’s so new it’s difficult to map out. It’s not yet a mainstream way to make an income. When you say, “I want to be a blogger” you still find people who look at you like your cray-cray!
Regardless, I had decided in November 2017 that I was going to take my writing and blogging seriously. I took one course on Udemy in November that gave me a birds-eye view of what successful blog monetization was, then I took Make Money Blogging For Beginners in December. In January, I started setting money goals. I said, “I want to make $100 this month”, then I scoured for the ideas I needed to make that goal happened.
One night, I was online and found the Billionaire Blog Club thru Surviving Cents’ article “Stop Wasting Money on Blog Courses”. In it, she was basically talking about how some bloggers prey on newbies’ innocence and desire to make our businesses work. As I read it, I thought “She’s right!”. The author was a part of the Billionaire Blog Club, and she was explaining the value of it.
I was hooked.
I talked to my husband, signed up for the free Blogging Bootcamp, and my husband and I agreed that it was a good investment (since this is the business I want to do).
Now, that I’m a “lifetime member”, this is my experience, and this is a summary of what and who you can see on the inside…
Dare to Conquer Review | The Good & the Bad
PRO #1: The price is one-time and the value continues to increase. Lifetime pricing is one-of-a-kind.
PRO #2: There is a tight community where favor they offer share wins, feedback, advice, and exchange blog favors (comments, likes, repins, etc.). This is the “Successes” thread. They celebrate big and small wins there, and it can be very motivating!
PRO #3: The video, and written content is VERY high quality and down-to-earth. Scrivs addresses the students like friends. He doesn’t talk down to you or make you feel like “since I’m successful, I’m better than you”. You find many people let their professional success get to their heads, so it’s nice to see someone making upwards of $30,000 monthly who can talk to people and treat them as equals even if we’re learning from him.
CON #1: The price is changing. I was an early adopter, so I paid $199 to sign up, but I always said to myself, “This is worth wayyyy more than $199. I knew $199 for a lifetime membership is not sustainable for a business, and he wouldn’t be able to continue to deliver high quality without increasing the price. I’m glad he is increasing the price because the business would either lost the excitement for him or we (the customers) would get less value. You’ll probably still find yourself saying, “This is worth wayyy more than $549 because of how Scrivs sincerely commits to delivering so much value”.
CON #2: The coursework takes time. If you’re working or you have a busy schedule, you want to be mindful that there is quite a bit of video content and prompts that will take you time to execute. I’ve signed up for classes I was too busy to enjoy.
Since it’s a lifetime membership, you can always enjoy it after you sign up, but signing up at a bad time could be discouraging. Be mindful of your schedule. I’d say give yourself more than 10 hours/week (if you can) to work on your business and apply the prompts, if you want to begin making money. The more time you can invest, the quicker you can probably increase your income.
CON #3: The strategies take time. Even after you’ve completed the course, the Pinterest strategies, SEO strategies, and others that Scrivs teaches take time to implement. The blogging business is definitely not an overnight success or a strategy for the faint at heart.
Dare to Conquer Review | Who is Dare to Conquer For?
Dare to Conquer would be perfect for the new blogger or the seasoned blogger. You can see several challenges for newbies, but there is also information and strategies that Scrivs shares that could be valuable to a seasoned blogger as well. No two bloggers does their business exactly alike, and when you see alternative ways of doing things, it can increase efficiency and ideas.
I’ve seen mostly young people from the United States in the membership. I know people from outside of the US have limitations on Pinterest, so the Pinterest Marketing strategy may not be as easily implemented by those who live outside of the country.
If you’re particular about age or you have quams about being around 20-35 year olds, I’d say, you should look into an alternative course that has a wider range of people types (age and ethnicity) like my #1 recommended course: Wealthy Affiliate. Also, if you live outside of the country, you may want to look into Wealthy Affiliate because their strategies will be applicable to most English-speaking countries.
Dare to Conquer Review | Tools & Training
Dare to Conquer is changing almost daily. It originally came with nine courses: Billionaire Blogging SEO, Boardbooster Masterclass, Billionaire Niche Selection, Billionaire Pinterest, Billionaire Affiliate Marketing, Intro to Email Marketing, Google Analytics, WordPress, and Content Creation. Now, those courses have evolved to reflect Boardbooster’s shut down, Tailwind now being the alternative, updates on Pinterest, modern SEO best practices, and more. Here’s what it used to look like…each course had several modules as you can see here (this is only one course–Billionaire Blogging SEO):
Once you’re logged on, if you click “Billionaire Affiliate Marketing” or the others, you’ll be able to see there are several modules. In addition to the courses, there are several “Milestones” for you to use to challenge your blog growth. The Milestones are like a map for you to get from one level to another. Let me show you a brief example:
The milestones were very helpful. As a blogger, the journey can get lonely, so having challenges for yourself and having a community who is undergoing challenges (like what the BBC Slack community offers) can be valuable beyond words or a dollar value. I love being a part of tight knit communities.
Many of the courses I’ve signed up for offer a Facebook group or something, but the groups are not so tight knit. Being a part of a community enables you to ask questions and get an answer. When you don’t have a community, and you have questions, you find yourself spending hours, days, weeks, months or even years scouring thru free curated content online or elsewhere. There is immense value in having access to someone whose been where you want to go, and you can find that in the BBC Slack Community.
Dare to Conquer Review | What The Updated Membership Platform Looks Like
Now, one year later, Scrivs is still very aggressively updating the platform. I’ve seen his commitment even past having two new babies since I joined! He’s continued to update lessons, and make it more and more relevant to the business obstacles he hears in the community. The same approach he had before on adding courses, creating challenges, and fostering community engagement is still the approach he takes now. As a result, he’s hired an amazing Community Manager who organizes events to help the members overcome blogging obstacles.
Dare to Conquer Support
Scrivs emails regularly and they’re not cut and paste emails. They’re spontaneous emails that are full of helpful tips. Sometimes, he asks for feedback before launching something new, sometimes it’s just checking in. The emails are always nice and make you feel that he’s establishing a friendship with you. Here’s an example of an email I got from him recently:

I’ve been up since 2 am so this isn’t one of those fancy planned emails that all of the bloggers do. In fact, rarely are my emails to you ever planned lol.
Anyways, I was sitting here working on some blogs (yes, plural, please save me from myself) when for some reason I realized that a lot of people have been talking about crappy numbers in February.
That can be tough having good numbers one day and then bad numbers the next.
But here’s the secret…
Successful bloggers power through these moments. They evaluate (not overthink, evaluate) what is going on with their blog and see if they need to make adjustments and continue to push forward.
This is tough because (this is going to hurt for some of you to read) you might lack perspective.
You really might think that your content, post titles, pins, and pinning strategy are all on point. It’s the world that is screwing up, not you.
For some niches, that is true. You might not want blogging to be seasonal but it definitely can be.
For others though you’re looking at your traffic and really trying to figure out what’s wrong.
What’s interesting to me is that a lot of people default to their promotion strategy. Their thinking is that traffic must be down because they aren’t pinning enough or pinning to the right places.
They bang their heads against the wall trying to unlock that Pinterest secret but they never sit down to look at their content and figure out if it’s something that people really want.
If your post titles aren’t enticing then why would anyone click over? If your post content isn’t valuable then why would anyone share?
Blogging is not about your creativity (seriously, you know there are some shitty blogs doing amazing numbers). Blogging isn’t your workspace to be cute with things.
Blogging is your chance to help people solve problems and when you do that you’re rewarded.
Cuteness and creativity work well when you’ve established yourself a bit and know what your audience wants.
I don’t tell you to look at popular posts in your niche and mimic them for my own health. Some of you take that advice and run with it while others are pretty defiant which I can understand.
You want to blog your way. You don’t want to copy another person’s post title (of course, throw in your own twist). You want to prove to yourself that you can do your own titles that don’t follow the tried and true marketing trends of the past 150 years.
When it comes to your content you don’t think it needs to be long (aka super helpful). You think that your 600 words are good enough to get the point across.
(This pep talk is turning into a rant, no clue how that happened.)
Oh, I know why I’m writing this. It’s because last night I sat down and started doing content research on my 2nd tier blogs that need attention. All of the content ideas I found bore me to death.
I have absolutely no desire to write any of them.
Believe me, writing about how you can lose weight with apple cider vinegar doesn’t fill me up with joy.
However, I know all of these content ideas have a chance of working and I know that this is a business. This business I’ve built allows me to work in some creativity in other areas but sometimes, blogging is boring as shit.
Your audience is boring. They just want a simple solution to a simple problem.
If you don’t provide that then someone else will.
Okay, back to the pep talk.
Slumps happen. There is no such thing as permanent upward growth in the blog world. On the down months are you going to still put in the work or even more work than the successful months?
That’s what you need to ask yourself. Are you continuously building your foundation or does your foundation only get built when things are rainbows and unicorns?
YOU chose to do this. YOU chose to build a business.
You can choose to abandon ship at any time but looking at your numbers and feeling sorry for yourself isn’t going to change a thing.
I often say “it’s your world” and I truly mean it. Your blog is your world. You can take control of where it goes but that’s ALL on you.
Will the work you put in today ensure that there is no slump next February?

PS: It very well could be your Pinterest strategy needs work but don’t let that always be the default of what you fall back on. It’s no coincidence that one or two posts on your blog take off while others don’t. Some need more time while others aren’t going to go anywhere.
Just something to think about.
On top of emailing “real” and “down-to-earth” emails, Scrivs is one of the few bloggers who makes a course and makes himself very available to answer questions in the Slack community. In addition to Scrivs in the Slack community, there are quite a few bloggers that range in knowledge and experience. The bloggers there are very eager to help one another out, which is very cool for a blogger: whether new or not.
Dare to Conquer Price
Dare to Conquer has courses you can buy individually, but the best value is the lifetime membership. I’ve never seen a lifetime membership as the business model for something like Dare to Conquer. It’s like a professional development association for bloggers, and usually, you’d have annual fees! Some blogging courses are $100s, some are thousands, and some are $10s of thousands. This one is $549 with no recurring price. That sets BBC apart.
My Final Opinion of Dare to Conquer
My final opinion of Dare to Conquer is that it’s a great membership. Real Estate Investors have their club. My husband is in some that are upwards of $1000 per year. Golfers have their club.
Now, elite bloggers have a club where people who are serious about their careers can gather and share. Professional development, professional associations, and the like are a great investments because of the training and communities (when they’re facilitated well).
There’s people there who have taken other widely reviewed courses like Elite Blog Academy by Ruth Soukup, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing by Michelle Gardner, Framework by Abby Lawson, Wealthy Affiliate, and others. They are still enjoying the content from Dare to Conquer, so you can see that it augments very good courses that cost much more when you consider DTC is a lifetime membership.
I’ve personally gained great ideas about how to create content ideas that can propel a blog from 0 pageviews to thousands organically. I’ve also been very motivated by the other driven bloggers in the group. They’re great bloggers there! I’ll be using the strategies from the Dare to Conquer.
I am prior military. We took professional development every first Thursday while I was in for nine years. I’ve not stopped that professional development pattern. I think if you want to pursue a professional path, you should do your best, and to do your best, you have to get trained. Dare to Conquer is a great course and community to invest into. You’ll definitely get the value you invested back quickly by making money, gaining great connections, and accelerating your growth as a blogger.

I know my review may not be what you were looking for because you may have wanted to hear “this one course will be the only course you’ll ever have to buy”! I don’t believe learning works like that. We’re aspiring professionals, right?
The two courses (Dare to Conquer and Wealthy Affiliate) compliment one another so well. If you can do both, I’d say “Go for it!” without thinking twice. It was hands down a great investment for me. You will accelerate your growth so much.
If you have to choose one due to financial constraints, time constraints (you need to make money fast), or the like, I’d say choose Wealthy Affiliate and keep Dare to Conquer on the top of the list for when you have more money to invest in your professional development. In my opinion, Wealthy Affiliate and Dare to Conquer are the best of the best.
